Client
Blend media
Blend began as a 360-content library, but quickly realised they could grow faster by building a marketplace where clients and creators meet to bring bold ideas to life.
I knew little about XR, its creators, or how it was used in business. I built a research plan to quickly understand my audience and close the gaps.
Strategy
Planning research
I focused on key topics to maximise each conversation, then collected and sorted the learnings thematically.
Client
Rookie
"If somebody is willing to be paid at each milestone consistently, it’s going to conflict with some big media companies."
Client
Agency
"If the budget estimate isn’t listed, either it's not going to be big enough or the client is just fishing."
Client
ROOKIE
Extremely busy and might want to be able to automatically reply to people.
Client
Agency
“The further down you scroll, the less I can associate a text with an image (referring to the categories).”
Client
ROOKIE
“Does not like Fiverr or Upwork. Has tried them but isn’t satisfied, as there was no human touch to it.”
Client
ROOKIE
“Feels like, as a creator, he should be the one to suggest a price.”
Client
Agency
“Invoices creators at the end of each month and saves a couple of days each month to get it done.”
Client
Agency
“Suggests that we insist on the fact that if the work is accepted, we release payment to the creator.”
Client
Agency
“Email notifications would be essential for them to track activity on the platform.”
Client
rookie
“AR has a lot of compelling use cases and can be achieved with a minimum of added equipment.”
Profiling
Defining users
We identified three personas, each with different levels of tech familiarity and unique needs and pains. We used these insights to guide our design choices.
Rookie
This is new
"I need to know what the ROI will be as this is a new way for me to communicate."

XR is my business
"I work or own an agency, and know what skills I need. I have my own payment processes."
Creator
XR is my craft
"I want to work on the best possible projects. I need my clients serious and committed."

"You should let creators explain exactly what they are delivering to the client; otherwise, you expose yourselves to big problems."

Likes the idea of being protected by the payment being held in escrow.

Ideation
Testing prototypes
I used live remote user testing as validation method. We tested two routes which varied in their layouts and project management structure.
I created a visual style that felt familiar to creators and conveyed creativity to clients—dark mode, vivid colours, and a modern look throughout.
Every feature answers a particular need raised during the research phase, and destined at providing an experience in par with what user expect.
Images as a guide
Clients often struggle to express what they truly want, leading to unnecessary back-and-forth. Moodboards helped bridge that gap.
A tailored listing
The order of each section on the listing page was defined by its importance to creators searching for new projects.
I introduced the concept of milestones to address the need of creators to break down their work into sections when submitting offers.
Incremental funding
The payment flow is designed to release funds only when a milestone is signed off, protecting both the client and creator.
Easy quoting
We studied how creators and clients work and built a flow that lets them break projects down into milestones, making quoting easier for both.
Professionals need fluid communication to build trust and lasting connections. Messaging is at the core of the experience, always just a click away.
Integrated profiles
Portfolios are powerful for creators, so we made them easily accessible right from the chat, in the profile, where clients naturally expect to find them.
Feature-packed messaging
Messaging is crucial for smooth communication, and file exchange is at the heart of the experience, helping teams work together without hassle.
Blend was discontinued three years after I left, but it made its mark — real XR projects, real-world impact, and lasting connections.
